I was responsible for pre-production, filming, and post-production for these projects I created while at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Everything Shrinks

Cely Chicurel founded Cely’s House in Chapel Hill to give artists and students a haven of creativity and community. She’s stepping back and passing it onto her studio assistant Chloe. Cely always had a hand in everything, now she must navigate transitioning away from the business. Chloe tries to fill Cely’s shoes.

Resurrection

Jerry Read Smith has created a name for himself as a dulcimer maker and musician. For almost fifty years, Reed Smith has put his whole life into uplifting the sound of the dulcimer by building and playing for others. His relationship with the instrument is more than his artistry. Twelve years ago, his love for the dulcimer was almost destroyed because of challenges in his personal life. With God’s help, he rediscovered the reason why he became so infatuated by the instrument. The process of relearning how to play has been a difficult task, but Read Smith continues to play because of his desire to share his love for the beautiful sound with other people.

The Effects of a TikTok Ban on UNC Student Influencer

I produced weekly packages for the UNC-Chapel Hill’s Carolina Week newscast from January-May 2024. This is a story I co-produced in March before a possible TikTok ban. I helped write the script, find b-roll, and edit the package. My partner filmed the interview and edited.

Primary Election Coverage

For UNC-Chapel Hill’s Carolina Week, I covered the 2024 election beat throughout the 2024 spring semester. For the February 28, 2024 broadcast, I reported live from an early voting site (8m), filmed MOS interviews about student sentiment regarding the election (8:45m), and filmed a VO-SOT for a story about the young girl who designed an election (11:28m).
